Softball Recap: Viola Takes a Loss

Viola fell victim to Cotter and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Longhorns were not able to get on the board.

Avery Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

Viola's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Cotter, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Viola will face off against Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cotter, they will challenge Concord at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
