Baseball Recap: Stanwood Starts off Right with Win over Nathan Hale

Stanwood took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Nathan Hale Raiders 3-2. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tanner Requa looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Stanwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skyler McLain, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI McLain has posted since back in April of 2024.

Coming up, Stanwood will host Anacortes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nathan Hale, they will head out to challenge Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
