Basketball Recap: Lisle Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

If Reed-Custer wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lisle, they should've done a better job of containing Ally Russell. The Lisle Lions came out on top against the Reed-Custer Comets by a score of 53-42 on Monday thanks in part to Russell, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (four).

Despite the defeat, Reed-Custer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Wollenzien posted ten points and four steals. Wollenzien also set a new season-high mark in field goal percentage with 60%. Another player making a difference was Morgan Toler, who put up four points and five rebounds.

Lisle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-18 record this season. As for Reed-Custer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Lisle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-29 loss against Herscher on the 13th. As for Reed-Custer, they have also already played their next matchup, a 42-30 win against Peotone on the 15th.
