Basketball Game Preview: Groves Falcons vs. Clarenceville Trojans

The Groves Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Clarenceville Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Groves has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row dating back to last season, Groves turned things around against Pinckney on Friday. They strolled past the Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 57-42. The win was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Pirates are ranked 142nd).

Meanwhile, Clarenceville was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Farmington. One positive for the Trojans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Clarenceville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Groves, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
