Volleyball Preview: Delano Tigers vs. Avenal Buccaneers        
        
		
            The Delano Tigers are taking a road trip to  take on the Avenal Buccaneers  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
It was a proper cat-fight when Delano faced off against Taft on Thursday. The Tigers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of  3-1.
 Delano was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-14,  25-18.
Delano relied on the efforts of   Arianna Solorio, who  had 16  digs and three  aces, and   Areli Villarreal, who  had seven  digs and three  aces. That's the most  aces  Solorio has posted since back in September.  Sophia Mellana also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first assist of the season.
 They weren't the only good servers: Delano  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 17  aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  ace total in three consecutive  contests.
Meanwhile, Avenal had just enough and edged out Tranquillity  3-2 on Thursday.
 Avenal wouldn't go down easily and took Tranquillity into a fifth set  where they got it done with a nine-point win. The final score came out to 10-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-21,  15-6.
 Delano's record now sits at 16-12. As for Avenal, their record is now 20-13-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Tuesday's  match:  Delano has really dialed in their serving  this season,  having  averaged 8.7  aces per game. However, it's not like Avenal struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 12.8  aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
