Football Recap: Fernley's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fernley can now relate to. They fell 35-28 to the Churchill County Greenwave on Friday. The Vaqueros' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Fernley still got an impressive performance from Keeshawn Love, who rushed for 307 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Love's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 20th straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Stephens, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

A big part of Churchill County's win came down to the chemistry between Matthew Bird and his top target Camden Richardson. Bird threw for 214 yards and a pair of TDs while Richardson rushed for 94 yards and one score on only eight carries. What's more, Bird racked up 48 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August.

Fernley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Churchill County, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Fernley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Churchill County, they will head out on the road to challenge Virgin Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Carson Melendy and Drew Dixon.
