Basketball Recap: Bellwood-Antis Takes a Loss

Bellwood-Antis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bald Eagle Area Eagles. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Bellwood-Antis lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Curtis Shedlock, who posted ten points. Shedlock also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Connor Mayes, who scored 13 points.

Bellwood-Antis' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Bald Eagle Area, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Bellwood-Antis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-35 defeat against Clearfield on the 10th. Bald Eagle Area has also already played their next match, a 57-42 loss against Penns Valley Area on the 8th.
