Softball Recap: Valley Park Hawks vs. Ursuline Academy Bears        
        
		
             Valley Park's game  on Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They put the hurt on the Ursuline Academy Bears with a sharp  13-3 win.
  Jaecie Bowen made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing six innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. Bowen was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jenna Chitwood, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs, and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Meghan Reinwald, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 The  victory  got Valley Park back to even at 2-2. As for Ursuline Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Park has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Ladue Horton Watkins at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. Valley Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8  runs per game  this season. As for Ursuline Academy, they will be defending their home-field for the first time this season they go up against Nerinx Hall  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Ursuline Academy is facing Nerinx Hall at the right time seeing as Nerinx Hall is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
