Football Recap: Northwest Christian Piles Up the Points Against Oakville

The Northwest Christian Wolverines blew past the Oakville Acorns, posting a 40-12 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won four matchups by more than 27 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Kearns continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 294 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Ashton Carlisle was another key player, rushing for 109 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northwest Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 440 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Northwest Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 27 points in those games. As for Oakville, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Northwest Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 54-22 loss against Wahkiakum on the 24th. As for Oakville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-8 defeat against Entiat on the 25th.
