Softball Recap: River City Takes a Loss

River City lost against Rodriguez on April 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raiders fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 6-5.

Emily Sauceda made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Hailey Flint also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

River City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Rodriguez, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River City will face off against Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Rodriguez, they will take on Sacramento at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
