Blackduck had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lake of the Woods Bears a 10-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Drakes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Blackduck's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Lake of the Woods, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blackduck will head out to square off against Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Drakes are facing the Northern Freeze at the right time seeing as the Northern Freeze are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Lake of the Woods, they will face off against Warroad at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
