Soccer Game Preview: Easley vs. Catawba Ridge

The Easley Green Wave are taking a road trip to challenge the Catawba Ridge Copperheads at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Easley's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Easley's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They beat T.L. Hanna by a goal, winning 1-0.

Meanwhile, Catawba Ridge faced Clover in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Copperheads fell 2-0 to the Blue Eagles. Considering the last time Catawba Ridge couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Catawba Ridge's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Easley, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12-1.

Easley couldn't quite get it done against Catawba Ridge in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Green Wave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
