Softball Recap: Linden Tigers vs. Rahway Indians

After flying high against Hillside last Friday, Linden came back down to earth. The Linden Tigers lost 11-1 to the Rahway Indians on Thursday. Linden has not had much luck with Rahway recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

For Rahway's part, Amanda Lebers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Lebers was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two triples, three runs, and two doubles while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Rahway got a massive performance out of Emily Garcia, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Danielle Maher was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Linden's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Rahway, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.

Linden will take on Somerville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rahway, they will head out on the road to challenge Dayton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
