Baseball Recap: Caston Snags Tenth Win in Last 13 Games

Caston won the last time they faced Pioneer and things went their way on Monday too. The Comets blew past the Panthers 15-1. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.

Caston let Gavin Mollenkopf and Parker Zimpleman run wild. Mollenkopf got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Zimpleman went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Zimpleman has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Woolever, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Caston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer only managed four hits.

Caston has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Pioneer, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-10.

Caston will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
