Basketball Recap: Palisades Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Noah Hunter and Brighton Lester

The Palisades Pumas ended up a good deal behind the Clover Blue Eagles on Friday and lost 48-34. The game marked the Pumas' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brighton Lester and Noah Hunter certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Lester posted 19 points and six rebounds, while Hunter earned no points. The matchup was Lester's fifth in a row with at least 17 points.

Clover was led to victory by Rico Hickman and Jayden Parks. Hickman shot 44% from the field to rack up 16 points and seven boards, while Parks went 5-for-12 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. Hickman also posted a block, marking his first of the season.

Palisades now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Clover, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Palisades will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Independence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pumas will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Clover, they have already played their next contest, a 61-46 defeat against Victory Christian Center on the 6th.
