Basketball Game Preview: Christian Brothers Falcons vs. Bella Vista Broncos

The Christian Brothers Falcons will head out to square off against the Bella Vista Broncos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Brothers is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.

Christian Brothers will head into Tuesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 27-point drubbing they dealt Ponderosa on Tuesday. Christian Brothers claimed a resounding 70-43 victory over Ponderosa. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Bruins are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stephan Hewitt and Daniel Powers were among the main playmakers for Christian Brothers as the former went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and six boards and the latter posted seven points along with six assists and four steals. Hewitt's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Grijnsztein, who earned nine points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Christian Brothers was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Meanwhile, Bella Vista was beaten by Inderkum 92-38 on Tuesday. The game marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Bella Vista and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for Christian Brothers, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 15-4 record this season.
