Baseball Recap: Haverhill Takes a Loss

Haverhill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dracut Middies. That's two games in a row now that the Hillies have lost by just one run.

Haverhill's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Dracut, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coming up, Haverhill will venture away from home to face off against St. John's Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dracut, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lowell Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.6 runs per game on average), something the Middies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
