Wood Memorial is 2-8 against Springs Valley since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Trojans will face off against the Blackhawks at 6:30 p.m. Wood Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Wood Memorial barely beat Dugger Union the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. The Trojans have beaten the Bulldogs the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Houston Schoonover was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Talan Strickland, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Springs Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past Orleans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blackhawks have posted since April 30, 2024.

Springs Valley's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mackey Lowe, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Springs Valley's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wood Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Wood Memorial suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Springs Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
