Football Recap: Lutheran South Takes a Loss

After soaring to 38 points the game before, Lutheran South was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Burroughs Bombers. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Max Gray and Malakhi DeBoise. Gray rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries while DeBoise rushed for 111 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. Those 99 rushing yards gave Gray a new career-high.

Lutheran South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Burroughs, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Lutheran South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 57-7 loss against Lutheran North on the 26th. As for Burroughs, they have also already played their next matchup, a 38-8 defeat against MICDS on the 27th.
