Volleyball Recap: Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Shelton Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-22.

Leading Sumner-Eddyville-Miller to victory were Mia Scoville and Lily Hrasky. Scoville had six digs and two aces, while Hrasky had six digs and two aces. What's more, Scoville racked up 12 assists, the most she's had over her last six contests.

Gracie Willis and Susanna Cheney certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Willis had 16 digs, while Cheney had ten digs. Camilla Michalski also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Shelton, they moved to 23-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak.
