Softball Recap: Fairland Dragons vs. Rock Hill Redmen
Fairland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rock Hill Redmen. Dragons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Redmen since on Wednesday.
Maddie Short spent all 12 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits.
On the hitting side, Fairland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Dehart, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Fairland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Rock Hill, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9.
Coming up, Fairland will head out to challenge Greenup County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Musketeers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rock Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
