Baseball Recap: Peak to Peak Wins Going Away Against Kent Denver

After only two runs in their last match, Peak to Peak made sure to put some runs up on the board against Kent Denver on Thursday. The Pumas put the hurt on the Sun Devils with a sharp 12-5 victory. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Owen Branscum, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-5. Peak to Peak is 3-1 when Branscum posts three or more hits, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Hirt, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

The win got Peak to Peak back to even at 6-6. As for Kent Denver, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peak to Peak will welcome Resurrection Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Kent Denver, they will host Colorado Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Sun Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
