Basketball Game Preview: Winter Haven Blue Devils vs. Santa Fe Catholic Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Winter Haven Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winter Haven has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight losses, while Santa Fe Catholic will come in with four straight wins.

Winter Haven made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Berkeley Prep, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 56-53 on Monday.

Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Santa Fe Catholic made off with a 55-54 victory over Calvary Christian.

Santa Fe Catholic's win came from a few key players that Winter Haven will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Toby Lane, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 19 points and four steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Shannon McArthur, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Santa Fe Catholic's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Winter Haven, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Winter Haven took a serious blow against Santa Fe Catholic in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, falling 84-42. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 45-22.
