Basketball Recap: Wood County Christian Find Success

Wood County Christian won the last time they faced Parkersburg Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Wood County Christian Wildcat slipped by Parkersburg Christian 40-39.

Despite the loss, Parkersburg Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kenzi Lucas went 10 for 24 en route to 21 points in addition to six boards and four steals. That was a full 53.8% of Parkersburg Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Sashlynn Posey also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Wood County Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Parkersburg Christian, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wood County Christian will face off against Calhoun at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Parkersburg Christian, they will be playing at home against Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
