Softball Recap: Vina Comes Up Short

Vina blew Phil Campbell out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Phil Campbell got their revenge. The Red Devils fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 10-8. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly two runs.

Vina's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-20. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Phil Campbell, their win bumped their record up to 8-17.

Coming up, Vina will venture away from home to face off against Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.91 runs per game on average), something the Red Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Phil Campbell, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-2 loss against Belgreen on the 11th.
