Basketball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Warren Warriors, falling 73-40. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.

Despite the loss, Taft still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Williams, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave Williams a new career-high.

It was another big night for Devin Petersen, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 26 points for Warren. Petersen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Jaylen Lacour was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Warren, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sotomayor the next time they take the court. Taft will head out to face Sotomayor at 2:30 p.m. on December 31st, while Warren will host them at 10:00 a.m. on January 3, 2025.
