Softball Recap: Union Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Union Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Central Academy Cougars get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Avery Wilson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned runs any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Keilana Burgess was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Keira Farmer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Union Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Union Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Union Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Metrolina Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee Park Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
