Softball Recap: Chino Hills Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Etiwanda typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Chino Hills proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Eagles 11-4. The game was the first time the Huskies have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 4, 2021.

Nadia Juarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Kyler Del Duca was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chino Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.

Chino Hills' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Etiwanda, they moved to 19-3 with that loss, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.

Chino Hills and Etiwanda should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Huskies will take on Chino at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (27 vs. 364). Meanwhile, Etiwanda (ranked eighth) will meet Rancho Cucamonga (ranked 234th) at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
