Baseball Game Preview: Dodgeville Dodgers vs. Lancaster Flying Arrows

Dodgeville has gone 9-1 against Lancaster recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Dodgers will head out on the road to take on the Flying Arrows at 4:30 p.m.

Platteville hit Dodgeville with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dodgers fell just short of the Hillmen by a score of 7-6. The loss put an end to the Dodgers' undefeated start to the season.

Bryce Crubaugh-Lockard made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Crubaugh-Lockard is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Jayce Halverson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Lancaster hadn't done well against Prairie du Chien recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Flying Arrows were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Blackhawks. The Flying Arrows not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 17, 2025 (when they won 10-4).

Lancaster has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs this season. As for Dodgeville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went Dodgeville's way against Lancaster in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Dodgeville made off with a 15-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dodgers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
