Soccer Recap: Appleton West Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Appleton West can now relate to. They lost 5-1 to the D.C. Everest Evergreens on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Appleton West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 148th, while D.C. Everest are ranked 14th).

Appleton West's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13-4. As for D.C. Everest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2-4 record this season.

Appleton West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for D.C. Everest, they will take on De Pere on Saturday. D.C. Everest's defense better be ready for this one: De Pere have averaged an impressive 3.6 goals per game this season.
