Basketball Recap: North Forsyth Comes Up Short

North Forsyth lost against Walkertown back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The North Forsyth Vikings had to suffer through a 90-48 loss at the hands of the Walkertown Wolfpack. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-31.

North Forsyth lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kerry Smith, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shallah Boxley, who posted five points and seven rebounds.

Leading Walkertown to victory were Kenan Grady and Ricco Daniels. Grady went 7 of 10 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds, while Daniels put up 12 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. Those 21 points gave Grady a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camereon Cartlidge, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

North Forsyth has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Walkertown, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7.

North Forsyth will venture away from home to challenge West Stokes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Walkertown, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McMichael at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walkertown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
