Basketball Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

Concord extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They fell 60-52 to the West Rowan Falcons. The Spiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

As for West Rowan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games.

Josiah Young produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 17 points and 17 boards. Those 17 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Luke Bame also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Concord has already played their next game, an 87-41 defeat against Hickory Ridge on the 13th. As for West Rowan, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jay M. Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
