Soccer Game Preview: Mexia vs. Robinson

The Mexia Black Cats will square off against the Robinson Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mexia's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mexia's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Harmony Science Academy. The Black Cats haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Mexia's one-goal win came courtesy of Jason Avila, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Lorena. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Rockets couldn't quite close it out.

Mexia's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Robinson, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
