Basketball Game Preview: Plainfield Cardinals vs. Morris Catholic Crusaders

The Plainfield Cardinals will venture away from home to face off against the Morris Catholic Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield faced off against Roselle Park on Wednesday. Plainfield blew past Roselle Park 72-48. The Cardinals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Morris Catholic put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Rose 105-53.

Morris Catholic pushed their record up to 20-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.7 points over those games. As for Plainfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Plainfield took a serious blow against Morris Catholic in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 77-36. Can Plainfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
