Bishop Gorman's run at the top of the MaxPreps west region football computer rankings came to an end this week with Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) taking over the No. 1 spot.

The Monarchs ascended to the top following its win over St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) last week. Bishop Gorman slips to No. 2 while St. John Bosco stays at No. 3.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The West region consists of teams from Hawaii, Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah.
