Recap: Lehigh Christian Academy Mustangs vs. Nazareth Area Blue Eagles

The Lehigh Christian Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 85-53 loss at the hands of Nazareth Area. While losing is never fun, Lehigh Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while Nazareth Area is ranked 136th).

When it comes to explaining why Lehigh Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Lewis. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points. That was a full 52.8% of Lehigh Christian Academy's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Venanzi, who scored seven points.

Lehigh Christian Academy dropped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Nazareth Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehigh Christian Academy will challenge High Point Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully High Point Baptist Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Nazareth Area will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pocono Mountain West at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
