Baseball Recap: Saranac Takes a Loss

Northern Adirondack hit Saranac with a six-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chiefs fell 10-7 to the Bobcats. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Adrian Barnes stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Saranac is 4-2 when Barnes posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Max Coryer, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Saranac now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Northern Adirondack, they moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Saranac has already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Peru on the 3rd. As for Northern Adirondack, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beekmantown at 4:30 p.m. on the 11th.
