Recap: Bay Path RVT Minutemen vs. Blackstone-Millville Chargers
After a string of four wins, The Bay Path RVT Minutemen's's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Blackstone-Millville 31-27. Bay Path RVT was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Blackstone-Millville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Bay Path RVT lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaiden Brochu. Despite the final result, he rushed for 198 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Brochu really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Bradyn Downes also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Daniel Lawton was on fire for Blackstone-Millville: he rushed for 219 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry.
Bay Path RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Blackstone-Millville, their victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Bay Path RVT will head out on the road to face off against Norwell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Norwell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bay Path RVT in Massachusetts (Norwell is ranked 46th, while Bay Path RVT is ranked 147th). As for Blackstone-Millville, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Nashoba Valley Tech at 1:00 p.m. Nashoba Valley Tech will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
