Flag Football Game Preview: Western Christian Fighting Lancers vs. Campo Verde Coyotes

The Western Christian Fighting Lancers will square off against the Campo Verde Coyotes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Campo Verde will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Western Christian extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Fighting Lancers blew past Pacifica Christian, posting a 41-6 victory. Given the Fighting Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Tritons are ranked 460th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

One reason for the win was Western Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Raya Hansen. She has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last five times she's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Campo Verde). They blew past Desert Edge 67-14 on Thursday.

Campo Verde's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Western Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.
