Westwood won the last time they faced Gilbert and things went their way on Monday too. The Warriors walked away with a 3-1 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

The victory didn't come easy: Gilbert scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25, 19-25, 25-20.

Nicole Saavedra paced Westwood's offense, picking up 11 kills. Saavedra got some help from Amelie Caldwell and her 32 assists. Kayla Hawkins controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the loss, Gilbert still got an impressive performance from Alexandra Thompson, who had 27 digs. With that strong performance, Thompson is now averaging an impressive 10.6 digs per game.

Westwood's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Gilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Westwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Desert Vista on the 16th. As for Gilbert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Kofa on the 17th.
