Basketball Recap: Elgin Drops Highest Score of Season Against Milano

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elgin). They claimed a resounding 62-25 win over the Milano Eagles. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Elgin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trinity Martinez, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 19 points and five steals. That's the most steals Martinez has posted since back in November of 2024. Alasia Brown was another key player, going 7 of 10 on her way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Elgin was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 5.8.

The victory made it two in a row for Elgin and bumps their season record up to 6-20. As for Milano, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Elgin has already played their next game, a 55-41 defeat against Pflugerville Connally on the 3rd. As for Milano, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 38-16 win against Holland on the 31st.
