The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apple Springs in their matchups with Martinsville: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Apple Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dakota Campbell. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Connor Kaufman, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Apple Springs' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-11. As for Martinsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
Apple Springs will head out on the road to face off against Wells at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wells will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Apple Springs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Martinsville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Slocum at 5:00 p.m. Slocum is coming into the contest with three straight victories on the road, so Martinsville is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
