Volleyball Recap: Carissa Bacon Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Ruskin

Platte County not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Ruskin Golden Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Platte County took every set by at least 20 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-1, 25-5.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Platte County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carissa Bacon, who hit 100% for ten kills and eight aces and three digs. Those eight aces gave Bacon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Reith, who had six aces.

Platte County's win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Platte County has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Truman on the 4th. As for Ruskin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Chrisman on the 4th.
