Volleyball Recap: Carissa Bacon Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Ruskin

Platte County not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the Ruskin Golden Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Platte County took every set by at least 20 points. The final score came out to 25-0, 25-1, 25-5.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Platte County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carissa Bacon, who hit 100% for ten kills and eight aces and three digs. Those eight aces gave Bacon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Reith, who had six aces.

Platte County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Platte County will head out on the road to square off against Truman at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ruskin, they will face off against Chrisman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
