Mission had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Palmview Lobos a 3-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Lobos back in March, they had to take a 7-5 loss.

The result came thanks to Judith Arroyo's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ilia Fiscal, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Mission pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Palmview, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.

Coming up, Mission will take on Rio Grande City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rattlers will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palmview, they will face off against Roma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lobos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gladiators have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
