Basketball Recap: Aspire Stockton Secondary Academy Takes a Loss

Aspire Stockton Secondary Academy extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-5. They had to suffer through a 78-37 loss at the hands of the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-19.

As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy found their leader in sophomore Samson Helsby, who went 8-for-9 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. Helsby is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Isaiah Williams was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Aspire Stockton Secondary Academy and Ben Holt College Prep Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Eagles see the court they'll take on Aspire Alexander Twilight Secondary Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, their break will end when they face McNair at 3:30 p.m. on the 18th.
