Basketball Recap: Dawson Comes Up Short

Dawson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Itasca Wampus Cats, falling 53-31. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1342nd, while the Wampus Cats are ranked 597th).

Dawson's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Itasca, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Dawson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Granger at 3:10 p.m. on Friday. As for Itasca, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Texas Wind at 11:10 a.m. on Friday.
