Preview: Vista Panthers vs. Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns

Vista is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Rancho Buena Vista is on a 12-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Vista Panthers will take on the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Rancho Buena Vista likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Vista blew past Mission Vista, posting a 71-31 victory at home. Given Vista's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Mission Vista is ranked 826th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even though Mt. Carmel scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Rancho Buena Vista still came out on top. Rancho Buena Vista strolled past Mt. Carmel with points to spare, taking the game 73-57.

Rancho Buena Vista found their leader in underclassman Cj Aldrich, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Aldrich is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Ayden Horn was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Rancho Buena Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 21-6.

Vista came up short against Rancho Buena Vista when the teams last played back in January, falling 74-68. Will Vista have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
