Volleyball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maricopa.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12, 23-25, 25-21.

Ben Marquez paced Washington's offense, picking up 15 kills. Marquez got some help from Sebastian Slowinski and his 26 assists. Marquez also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Miguel Gutierrez Alvarez, racking up two apiece.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Maricopa, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Washington has already played their next contest (against Greenway), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. After both having extra time off, Maricopa and Mountain Pointe will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. on March 18th. Maricopa is facing Mountain Pointe at the right time seeing as Mountain Pointe is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
