If Brownfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lake View, they should've done a better job of containing Izaiah Rios. The Chiefs/Maidens claimed a resounding 58-26 victory over the Cubs thanks in part to Rios, who rushed for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.

One reason for the win was Lake View's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Joshua Lemos, James Hogeda, and Connor Williams, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Lake View's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Brownfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Lake View and Brownfield will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Chiefs/Maidens see the field they'll take on Pecos at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Brownfield, their break will end when they face Denver City at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
