Softball Recap: Skyline Eagles vs. Hunter Wolverines
Skyline had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 7-17 to make it four. They lost 11-3 to the Hunter Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 20-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Isabelle Rupp made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
As for Hunter, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.
On Hunter's side, they got a massive performance out of JORDYN NAPOLES, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave NAPOLES a new career-high. KENYA LAPUAHO was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Looking ahead, Skyline will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Bountiful at 3:30 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redhawks have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Hunter, they have already played their next game, a 6-4 victory against San Juan on the 25th.
